Use Print to PDF on Windows
Windows has a great system that allows you to convert the following file type into PDF:
- Text files
- Microsoft Office Documents
- Photos
- XPS Files
To start, open the file you’re converting by double-clicking on it. Once it opens on its respective program, open the Print menu. Do this by clicking on File then Print, or by pressing CTRL and P at once.
Click on the printer’s current name below the Printer or Printers heading. You’ll see a dropdown menu that lets you select the appropriate printer. Instead of picking anything else, go for the Microsoft Print to PDF option.
Click the Print button to open the File Explorer window. Put the name of the document and save it on your desired location. With that, the program will make a PDF version of your file within that folder.
Use Preview on Mac
If you’re one of the millions of Mac users in the world, you’ll want to use a native application on your Mac computer. The good news is that OS X has Preview, and it can convert image files like TIFF and JPG files into PDF.
Like in Windows, go to the file’s location and click it once. After that, click on File at the upper left corner of your screen to activate the dropdown menu. There, click on Open With for a pop-out menu to appear.
Select Preview among the appearing choices to open the file using this application. Once active, click on File to select the Export as PDF option on the dropdown menu.
On the Where box, go to your desired save location and click the blue Save button at the bottom of the window. This will convert file to PDF form while storing it in the save location you specified.
