Summers are already here and summer vacations too, which arises many campaigns. Here I present some of the social media famous campaigns in June 2018.
1. MasterCard’s Controvertible World Cup campaign
World Cup 2018 is here and everyone is going crazy about it. Known brands are always looking for ingenious ways to take advantage of something that is hyped up already and that is exactly what Mastercard did. And also became the hot topic of discussion for it. The campaign state,d ”For each goal scored by Messi or Neymar Jr 10000 children will receive a meal”. This resulted in a debate on social media. Most people took it the negative way. MasterCard tried it’s level best to build up the enthusiasm but failed.

2. Nike recreated the popular airport advertisement
Nostalgia is something everyone gets touched with and that is maybe why Nike decided to recreate their airport ad from 1998 for the World Cup 2018. 20 years from now, Nike has collaborated with Saleção for another hit video. In addition to other professionals like Coutinho, Willian, and Ronaldo. The original advertisement did not have social media to spread it but the recreated one did and crossed over 18 million views within a month and that too just on YouTube.
3. Instagram introduces IGTV with shoppable stories
Instagram has innovatively attempted to get its hands on YouTube’s video market share in which it has excelling since years now.
IGTV allows people to upload a video of max 1 hour length. Another unique feature it is providing is the “shoppable stories”. This befits the Instagram followers and the brand too. The consumer can easily go through stories and shop online whenever they want, while the brand/company gets another recognised platform to introduce their products to, resulting in increased revenue.
4. Nestle’s Pure Life Collaborates with WWE
The ”Choose Water” campaign can be seen on both WWE and Nestle social media channels, which are trying to spread the importance of staying hydrated, especially in the summer season. Some of the most recognized WWE star faces can be seen promoting the campaign, such as Charlotte Flair.
The hashtag ”ChooseWater” is circulating twitter. This hashtag with a justification of why they choose water over other drinks can give you the opportunity to win a trip to WWE Summer Slam.

5. YouTube introduces Premium and Music in the UK
Youtube has now launched its music and video subscription service to almost 17 countries. Some of which are Australia, Russia and Mexico.
The app is called YouTube Music and offers you an easy access to your favorite music even if you don’t know what it is called, just search whatever bit of the song that hits your mind and voila! It opens up like magic. You can watch your favorite music videos without being interrupted by ads in between. Which is a really good news for people who get irritated by ads.
